30 Dates

30 Dates : Amazingly fun, witty and so real!

Written by Fenulla Jiwani and directed by Rosanna Saracino, FenStar Productions presented its third theatrical production, "30 Dates," at the Dancemakers Centre for Creation in  June 2008. In this hilarious and touching story, we see front, line and center the inner world of Priti who is on a quest to find her "one true love." At the ripe age of 35, her parents want her married soon and her biological clock is ticking . Desperates times call for desperate measures in order to avoid an arranged marriage.  In her fear of being left alone, Priti is racing against the clock to find a suitable husband. Who said that finding true love was easy?

The set was cool, but the writing was just 20th Century clear-cut dry.  But what a fabulous, hilarious evening to spend with Fenulla Jiwani, who doubles as the character of Priti.  She is joined in her antics by actors Gabriel Grey, Patrick Whalen, Shafik Kamani, Husein Madhavji, Danya Nearon and Richard Young.

Amazingly fun, witty and so real!  I totally give it two thumbs up!

30 Dates plays at the Centaur Theatre until September 26th, 2009.
